San Diego weather is the envy of most of the country. Beautiful warm sunny days have much to do with the quality of life San Diegans enjoy. Close proximity to the Pacific Ocean keeps the summers temperate and the winters mild with a year round average temperature of 70.5 degrees. Ten months of the year the sun shines 70% of the time. San Diego is affected by two predominant weather conditions: the Marine Layer and the Santa Ana winds. During the summer months a layer of cool air moves off the coastline during the night and evaporates as the day begins to warm. As a result mornings tend to be foggy or hazy but clear right up as the day progresses. The Santa Anas are hot winds that blow off the mountains to the east and bring the temperatures up into the 90's in September and October however; low humidity and beach breezes keep the heat bearable.

With such a pleasant environment it is no wonder San Diego remains such a popular destination. Voted by Holiday Magazine as "the only area in the United States with perfect weather" San Diego's climate is hard to beat.
